There is always something going on in our hotel. The history of the hotel is anything but boring as well: initially Hotel amiamo was a rest resort, called "Hotel Porschehof" until the end of 2005 - the origin is already in the name.
In 1956 professor Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche and his sister Louise Piech built a holiday home for their VW-staff and their students. The place ist the "Schüttgut" in Zell am See, the dynasty of the families Porsche - Piech.
In the postwar period the first Porsches were temporarily stored and repaired here. Smart employees could keep the valuable - and therefore threatening - out of sight of the Allied Powers.
Numerous VW-employees stayed in the rest resort against reasonable conditions, enjoying the healthy mountain air, the view and the fine kitchen. In 1978 F.A. Porsche used his competent desinger hand to rebuild and exend the building in the solid country style.
In 1994 the Hörl family took it over as a family hotel. Since then, over1200 families each year, from Germany, Austria and other countries, enjoy - like in those days - the healthy mountain air, the view and the excellent kitchen . But even more: they get enthusiastic about the active entertainment programme and the friendly service team.
By the end of 2004, the property of the building with a total area of 10.000m² was handed down from the Porsche family to the Hörl family. So now she is the one responsible for the future of the resort.
As managers, Dagmar and Georg Hörl still have a lot of plans, of which changing the name from "Porschehof" into "amiamo" is just the beginning.
